Christian Haotian Qi

Baritone

One of Australia’s finest Baritone Christian Haotian Qi graduated with an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Nanjing Art University in China and completed his Master Degree in Opera Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Christian started his operatic career as a Young Artist with Opera Australia in the Moffatt Oxenbould Young Artist Program.

In 2022 he made his successful role debut as Marcello in La Boheme at the Sydney Opera House.

His other operatic roles includes: Giove in La Calisto, the title role in Don Giovanni, Albert in Werther, Don Profondo in Il Viaggio a Reims, Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte, Escamillo/Dancairo/Morales/Zuniga in Carmen, Count Danilo Danilovitsch in The Merry Widow, Ping in Turandot, Figaro in The Barber of Serville.

Christian will be making his debut with Victorian Opera in Richard Mill’s new opera The Butterfly Lovers performing both roles as Zhu and Master.
