James Billson
Bass Baritone
Bass-baritone James Billson is currently pursuing his Master of Music degree at Melbourne University under the guidance of Jane Davidson and Stephen Grant.
His journey began with the violin and guitar before his discovery of a passion for singing, which he first explored in Melbourne Grammar School’s chapel choir.
So far, James has participated in several community and professional music projects, including the ICAC production of ‘Dogfight’ and the ‘Consort of the Moon’ project, formerly ‘Echolalia’, which is returning for this year’s the RISING festival. James made his operatic debut in the University’s production of Britten’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ last year and has since secured a spot in Melbourne Opera’s Götterdämmerung chorus.
