Jessica Aszodi
Mezzo-soprano
Jess Aszodi is a mezzo and multidisciplinary artist whose work crosses between opera, music theatre and experimental compositions.
She has been a soloist with the London Sinfonietta, Ensemble Moderne, Hamburg Staatsoper, Wiener Volksoper, Nederlands Reisoper, Royal Opera House Covent Garden (covers), San Diego Symphony, Aspen Festival, National Theatre Tokyo, Aldeburgh Festival, Royal Festival Hall, the Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide Festivals, Pinchgut, Tectonics, Tanglewood, Beethoven Festwoche, Vivid Sydney, and with the Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras. Jess also holds a Doctorate from the Queensland Conservatorium. She has written articles for several books and journals and teaches the practical as well as theoretical applications of her research on vocal embodiment.
Recently returned home to Melbourne, she is thrilled to be back at alma mater Victorian Opera, where she began her career as a young artist.
