Mansfield Park at Horti Hall

30–31 May 2025 Horti Hall | Hemstritch Studio

Intimate, Regency-era performances of marriage, manners and money.

Published in 1814, Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park tells the story of Fanny Price who, as a girl, was sent from her impoverished family to live with her wealthy relatives in their opulent manor. As a young woman of marrying age, Fanny must navigate her new social environment, including the romantic entanglements and moral dilemmas of her cousins.

Jonathan Dove’s musical adaptation of Mansfield Park invites guests to be a fly on the wall in Jane Austen’s world of family drama, marriage negotiations, class and flirtation. Featuring some of Australia’s finest performers, this production will sparkle with style, wit, and Georgian decorum. An intimate performance held in Horti Hall, the home of Victorian Opera, accompanied by fours hands on a grand piano.

Featuring some of Australia’s finest performers, this production will sparkle with style, wit, and Georgian decorum.
