Access All Areas

Take your students on a journey into the world of opera without leaving the classroom. Schools across all corners of the state can experience workshops, backstage footage and performances livestreamed direct to the classroom.

In 2019, the Access All Areas program is built around Victorian Opera’s education opera Alice Through the Opera Glass. The program runs in Term 2 (22 May to 17 June 2019) and is suitable for Foundation to Year 6 students. It is supported by downloadable Education Resources (available April 2019) and aligns with Australian Curriculum General Capabilities and Learning Areas in:

  • The Arts – Music, Drama and Visual Arts
  • Languages – French, Italian and German

Education Resources

Most of Victorian Opera's productions are accompanied by curriculum-aligned Education Resources which can be easily accessed online. Our resources are designed to provide teachers with information and practical activities to use in the classroom to further engage and develop their student's creative thinking. Browse our resources.

Work Experience

We welcome students who have a genuine curiosity about any aspects of the performing arts industry, in particular opera and musical theatre. Students who are accepted for work experience will be exposed to all the different departments that make up Victorian Opera, not just performance elements.

We are currently working on improving our Work Experience Program and the application process. More information will be available in late January 2019.

For any further information about our Education programs please email Ioanna Salmanidis at ioannas@victorianopera.com.au or call (03) 9012 6659.
