Venues
Our venue partners have worked diligently to develop venue specific COVID-safe plans and procedures. Each venue’s plan can be found via their website. In conjunction with our venue partners, our efforts to keep audiences, performers and staff safe include a variety of hygiene and safety measures.

Each venue has updated their conditions of entry and implemented extra health and safety measures to keep our community safe. Venue-specific conditions of entry which can be found on their websites. However, a summary of guidelines include:
- If you are unwell or have had contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, please stay home.
- Anyone displaying COVID-19 symptoms, should get tested and quarantine until negative test results are confirmed.
- Vaccination and face mask requirements in line with current Victorian Government guidelines.
- By entering any of our venues, you agree to the healthy and safety requirements listed on their websites.
- Our venue partners retain the right to refuse entry to anyone who does not follow their health and safety measures.
- If you suspect you have COVID-19, please phone Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) dedicated hotline on 1800 675 398.

Ticketing
- All ticket purchases will be issued as digital tickets, please present your ticket on your phone or as a print-out for scanning at the door.
Customer Vaccinations and Mask Wearing
- In accordance with Victorian Government health requirements, visitors will no longer need to check-in or provide evidence of their vaccination status.
Inside the Venue
- All sales from outlets including Box Office, Merchandise and Food & Beverage will be via contactless card-only payment to help reduce queues and remove cash handling.
- There will be no cloaking facilities available, please keep bag size to a minimum, we suggest nothing larger than an A4 size.
- All patrons are requested to practice good personal hygiene, including sneezing/coughing into your elbow, and washing hands for at least 20 seconds where possible. Patrons are encouraged to make regular use of the hand sanitiser stations positioned throughout the venue
Cleaning
- Touchless technology has been installed into venue bathroom facilities, including automatic main door openers, handsfree flushers, taps, soap, hand driers and sanitiser dispensers.
Most importantly, stay home if you:
- are feeling unwell or are currently experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms
- are subject to isolation requirements
- are a primary contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case in the past 7 days, or
- are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.
Arts Centre Melbourne

Customer Vaccinations and Mask Wearing
- In accordance with Victorian Government health requirements, visitors will no longer need to check-in or provide evidence of their vaccination status.
- Face masks are strongly recommended indoors.
Cleaning and Ventilation
- Regular cleaning and sanitising of venues with approved disinfectant products throughout the day. We clean high touch points hourly.
- In the Theatres Building, the air conditioning and ventilation system has been upgraded to a higher grade of filtration, the same system was implemented in Hamer Hall in 2012 during refurbishment. In addition, our air-conditioning units across both spaces are currently operating at 100% outside air – which means constant cycling of fresh outdoor air through all occupied indoor spaces.
Physical Distancing and Signage
- Please try to maintain at least 1.5 metres from others where possible, especially when moving around the venue.
- Signage in and around the buildings will help you maintain physical distancing, including in high traffic areas like corridors and areas where queues may form.
Hand Hygiene
- Hand sanitisers are available upon entry to all venues, events and activity spaces.
- Handwash will be regularly restocked in all bathrooms.
Cashless Venue
- Arts Centre Melbourne is a cashless organisation. All points of payment (tickets, parking, retail, cafés and bars) accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express payments.
Box Office Hours
- The Theatres Building Box Office (State Theatre, Playhouse, Fairfax Studio) is open 75 minutes prior to the performance.
- The Hamer Hall Box Office is open 60 minutes prior to the performance.
- The Sidney Myer Music Bowl Box Office is open 60 minutes prior to the performance.
Conditions of Entry
In line with their standard conditions of entry, Arts Centre Melbourne will implement additional health and safety measures to ensure your safety and wellbeing. Please note that these additional conditions of entry apply to everyone attending all areas of the venue (indoor and outdoor) and are subject to change without notice at the discretion of Arts Centre Melbourne.
- In line with Victorian Government health guidelines, visitors will no longer need to check-in or provide evidence of their vaccination status.
- If you have the following symptoms, however mild, you must not enter our site: fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, and loss of sense of smell or taste. Please get tested and quarantine at home until you receive your test results.
- Anyone who is subject to a Department of Health direction must not attend Arts Centre Melbourne for any reason.
- By entering the venue, you agree to abide by the new health and safety measures outlined in the Arts Centre Melbourne COVIDSafe & Wellbeing Plan.
- Arts Centre Melbourne retains the right to refuse entry to any person who refuses to adhere to health and safety measures.
