Victorian Opera’s Youth Ambassador Program offers 5 Metropolitan secondary school students, and 5 Regional secondary school students in Year 11 the opportunity to represent Victorian Opera in their school and social communities, and to support the company in its engagement with young audiences.

As part of the program, metropolitan Ambassadors receive a free ticket for themselves and a guest to the performances listed below and regional students will be given a digital subscription to view 2 works online*.

Ambassadors and their guests also participate in a pre-show education session with Victorian Opera’s Education Manager where the key features and context of the work will be outlined. Ambassadors and their guests will then share a meal before heading to the theatre to view the work. At some performances a brief Q & A with creative team and cast members will be organised.

Regional students can also participate in this program remotely. 5 regional students will be given a digital subscription to view works and will have access to all education sessions via a Zoom conference call.

This program is offered free of charge to successful candidates due to the generosity of Professor Barbara van Ernst AM.
